Police: Motorcyclist dead after crash in Westtown

Investigators urging any witnesses to accident to contact them

Image 1A motorcyclist died in a morning accident in Westtown Township on Sunday, May 5, a news release from  the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department said.

Police said they received a report of a crash that had occurred in the 1400 block of Manley Road at 11:16 a.m. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers determined that immediately prior to the crash, a motorcycle had been traveling east on Manley Road. As the motorcycle approached the entrance to Summit House Condominiums, it struck a car that had just exited the apartment complex, the release said.

Following impact with the car, the motorcycle subsequently struck a mailbox and telephone pole. The operator of the car was not injured, but the motorcycle operator, who has not been identified pending notification of relatives, died at the scene, the release said.

The collision is under investigation by the Traffic Safety Unit and Criminal Investigation Division to determine the cause. Any individuals who witnessed the crash are encouraged to contact the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department at 610-692-9600.
