On Sunday, May 4, the public is invited to participate in “Live United in Color,” an unconventional, untimed 5K run/walk fund-raiser. It is designed to generate fun, raise money for needed community programs, and promote healthful activity.

About every kilometer, participants will be playfully doused with a colored powder – a nontoxic, biodegradable cornstarch-based powder – in a fanciful, friendly atmosphere. Participants will be asked to wear white in preparation for a 5K like no other.

Registration is limited, and the race is expected to sell out quickly. It will be held at 2 p.m. in Caln Township Park on G.O. Carlson Boulevard in Thorndale.

For more information or to register, visit http://www.unitedwaychestercounty.org/live-united-color-5k-run-walk-5414, email Christopher Saello at chris.saello@unitedwaychestercounty.org, or call 610-429-9400.

Kids are welcome, but for the participants’ safety, dogs, bikes, skateboards and strollers are prohibited on the racecourse. There is no age limit for younger or older runners; however, due to time restraints, the 5k course is recommended for runners/walkers who are 10 years or older. There will be markers for a shorter course for those participants who cannot complete the course in its entirety.
