Obituaries: Elaine F. O’Gara

Elaine F. O’Gara, 90, of Middletown, NJ, died on November 26, 2018 at Riverview Medical Center. She was born in Pennsylvania and resided in Middletown for 62 years. Mrs. O’Gara was a teacher and science specialist in Middletown schools for 25 years, retiring in 1990. She was a 1950 graduate of Susquehanna University and received a Master’s of Education from Kean University. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, Alpha Delta Kappa, and Phi Delta Kappa. She was also a member of MCEA, NJEA, NEA and the affiliates for retirees. Mrs. O’Gara was a communicant of St. Mary’s RC Church, New Monmouth, and a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She enjoyed wintering in Stuart, FL and was a member of Ship Ahoy Beach Club for almost 60 years.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Jeffrey Pisani; her son, Kenneth O’Gara; her daughter-in-law, Patricia O’Gara; her two granddaughters, Kristin McNair and her husband, Christopher, and Sarah Pisani; her great-grandchild, Landon McNair;and her niece, Catherine Ham.

Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert M. O’Gara in 2008, and her son, Thomas O’Gara in 2011.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 30, 2018 from 7-9 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 9:30 am at the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Chapel, 26 Leonardville Rd., Middletown. Entombment will follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
