Coatesville woman killed in Caln hit and run

CalnPDCALN — Township police are investigating a fatal hit and run pedestrian crash that happened late Thursday night on Lincoln Highway in Thorndale.

Police said that Ke’aysa Gray, 19 of Coatesville was walking westbound along Lincoln Highway when she was struck by a vehicle traveling west. The striking vehicle continued westbound without stopping. The victim was transported to Brandywine Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Evidence gathered at the scene indicates that the striking vehicle may be a 2009-2011 gray or silver Honda Pilot SUV.  The vehicle should have sustained moderate damage to the right front portion of the vehicle, including the front bumper, headlight/fog light assemblies and right front fender.

The township police department is asking for the public’s help in gathering further information related to the crash.  Officers are asking anyone who was in the area at the time, and may have witnessed anything leading up to or following the crash, or have information regarding the vehicle and/or driver, to contact police at 610-383-1821.

Lincoln Highway remained closed in both directions for approximately three hours while the scene was investigated and cleared. Caln Township Police were assisted by West Goshen Police, Washington Hose Company, Medic 93 and Thorndale Volunteer Fire Company.
