Man charged in DUI after motorcycle crash

WESTTOWN — A Chesterbook man is in serious condition after the motorcycle he was riding was struck by a pickup truck at the intersection of Stanton Road and US-202, late Friday, and the truck’s driver was charged with driving while under the influence alcohol or controlled substance among other charges, police said.

Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police said Liam Crowley, 24, was riding his Triumph motorcycle northbound on US-202 when a Dodge pickup truck driven by Robert Elwood Landis, 49, headed southbound on 202 attempted a left turn onto Stanton Road, allegedly striking the motorcycle. Crowley suffered multiple injuries and was transported from the scene by Good Fellowship Ambulance and Medic 91. He was listed in critical condition in Paoli Hospital.

Landis, of West Goshen, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance, driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked for DUI and other traffic offenses, police said. He was remanded to the custody of Chester County Prison.
