COATESVILLE — Two city youths were charged Wednesday in the assault of an elderly male victim — thanks to various tips and information provided to police by local residents.
City police withheld the names of suspects — two 16 year olds — who were charged with attacking the man on the 100 block of East Lincoln Highway, Monday evening.
Police said that the two approached the man and asked him about a sports jersey he was wearing, before one of the two struck the man, while the other shot video of the incident. Police said the two were engaged in a new trend called “slap cam” where one individual hits an unsuspecting victim while another records it.
Both suspects were remanded to the Chester County Juvenile Detention Center.
