CALN — A 14 year old township girl reported that a man attempted to lure her into a car on Lincoln Highway, near the Strauss Bridge and not far from Coatesville Area High School, Wednesday afternoon.
Township police said that the man is described as a male of Indian descent, approximately 40 years old, with a neatly trimmed beard and moustache. He was described as speaking English but with an accent. The subject was operating a bright red, late-model sedan.
Police said the man approached the female two times within minutes by pulling up next to her as she walked along the highway, a little after 3 p.m. The victim ran from the subject on his second approach to flag down a Chester County Sheriff’s vehicle that was in the area at the time of incident.
Police said that the incident is not believed to be related to the sexual assault that was reported on Aug. 27.
The Caln Police Department contacted the Coatesville Area School District as the event happened near to the main campus grounds.
As the incident occurred while there was a significant amount of traffic on Lincoln Highway, police are asking anyone with any information or who may have seen the incident to call the Caln Police Criminal Investigation Division at 610-383-1821 or 610-383-7000.
