Second bank robbery in Chester County this month
COATESVILLE — Police are seeking information about a bank robbery committed in broad daylight — the second such event in Chester County in less than two weeks — Tuesday morning at the Coatesville Savings Bank.
Police said a man entered the bank before 10 a.m. Tuesday and handed the bank teller a note demanding money. The suspect is described as a black male, 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall, with a thin build and full beard. He was wearing a red and white hat, sun glasses, a light colored long sleeved button down shirt, khaki pants and dark shoes.
Anyone with information is urged to call the City of Coatesville Police Department at 610-384-2300. Anonymous tips can be submitted by texting, subject or keyword “Coatesville” and your message to 847411.
On Aug. 15, a man robbed a Kennett Square bank on West Cypress Street — and remains at large. The two events do not appear to be connected, as the suspects appear to be different individuals, based on the surveillance images released by authorities.
