26-year-old motorcyclist reportedly lived in Chester Springs
Police have identified the motorcyclist who died in a morning accident in Westtown Township on Sunday, May 5, a news release from the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department said.
Police said Lawrence Paden Jr., 26, of Chester Springs, died at the scene of the crash, which occurred in the 1400 block of Manley Road at 11:16 a.m. Police said that upon arrival at the scene, officers determined that immediately prior to the crash, Paden had been traveling east on Manley Road. As the motorcycle approached the entrance to Summit House Condominiums, it struck a car that had just exited the apartment complex, the release said.
Following impact with the car, the motorcycle subsequently struck a mailbox and telephone pole. The operator of the car, described only as 75-year-old woman and West Chester resident, was not injured, the release said.
The collision remains under investigation by the Traffic Safety Unit and Criminal Investigation Division to determine the cause, the release said. Any individuals who witnessed the crash are encouraged to contact the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department at 610-692-9600.
