West Whiteland Police say truck struck pedestrian, kept on going
The West Whiteland Township Police Department is seeking information from the public as it investigates a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian, police said.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, when a pedestrian walking in the 1300 block of Phoenixville Pike was struck from behind by a passing truck, police said. After striking the pedestrian, the truck accelerated north on Phoenixville Pike, toward King Road, police said. The pedestrian, a 36-year-old male, was injured and was taken to Chester County Hospital by family members, police said, adding that he was released from the hospital later Thursday night.
The truck was described as a white utility body pick-up with a yellow snowplow on the front, police said. Anyone with information on the incident or the truck is asked to contact the West Whiteland Township Police Department at 610-363-0200 or 610-692-5100.
