Vogel announces run for Congress

Ron Vogel

A Chester County Realtor has announced his intention to seek the Republican nomination for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 6th District.

In a letter, Ron Vogel informed the members of the Republican Committees of Chester and Berks Counties of his intention to seek the seat currently held by Democrat Chrissy Houlahan.

Vogel said: “I will not stand idly by while the America we all love falls apart.”  In his letter to the Republican committee members, he said, “I will bring common sense back to Washington, and I will promote the ideals set forth in the Constitution.” Vogel then described his values of fiscal responsibility, border security, and protecting children and families, among others. “We must be fiscally responsible to slow down inflation. I will promote school choice so parents can decide on better educational opportunities for their children. I will advocate for unborn children to protect our most vulnerable.”

In June 2016, tragedy struck when a hit and run automobile accident injured Vogel’s wife and took the life of their unborn daughter. “I am inspired by Eva Elizabeth, my daughter who resides in Heaven, whom I promised to honor by dedicating my life to helping others,” says Vogel.

Currently an award-winning Realtor, Vogel was previously a small business owner and a day trader in the stock market. He is also an avid ice hockey player. A graduate of Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown, he later earned a bachelor’s degree from Shippensburg University. Although he has spent most of his life as a resident of Chester County, he previously spent several years residing in Berks County.

“My legislative priorities will help struggling families achieve the American Dream. For example, I’ll use my background in real estate to push for a ‘Homebuyer Savings Account’ bill. It will help Americans save for their home tax-free. It’s such a common sense idea, that both Congressional Republicans and Joe Biden have publicly stated support for it,” says Vogel. “I’ll also reform the federal student loan programs that cripple our graduates and incentivize colleges to jack up tuition rates. We need to practice austerity and only give out loans that can reasonably be repaid. Our economy just can’t handle a bubble burst right now, especially when combined with historic inflation.”

Ron Vogel grew up in Glenmoore. He and his wife, Shelby, live in Malvern today with their three children. To learn more about Ron’s campaign, visit www.RonTheRep.com or www.Facebook.com/RonVogelForCongress/
