Coffey tapped as new GM at Downingtown Country Club

DOWNINGTOWN — Downingtown Country Club, a Ron Jaworski Golf property, has named golf industry management professional Jim Coffey as its new General Manager. Coffey is a 20-year veteran of the golf industry, most recently having served as GM of Whitemarsh Valley Country Club, a private, member owned club in Lafayette Hill, PA.

Prior to that, Coffey had been the Clubhouse Manager at Green Valley Country Club, another upscale, private club in Lafayette Hill. Coffey also had prior experience as GM at Huntsville Golf Club in Dallas, PA, and as Assistant GM at Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove, NY.

Coffey is a graduate of the New York Institute of Technology where he graduated with a degree in Hospitality Management.  He is a member of the Club Management Association of America and the National Club Association. Additionally, he earned the designation as a Certified Club Manager by the Club Management Association of America.

Jim and his wife Gina reside in Lansdale, PA with their sons RJ and Cameron.

The 6,619 yard, par-72 golf course was designed by George Fazio and built between 1965 and 1967.  Fazio, the uncle of renowned modern course architect Tom Fazio, was a runner-up to Ben Hogan in the 1950 U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club, and the touring professional out of Pine Valley Golf Club for a number of years.

Besides the championship caliber golf course, Downingtown Country Club is also a popular and highly acclaimed venue for weddings, banquets and dining.
