Cerra appointed new GM at Downingtown CC

Downingtown Country Club, a Ron Jaworski Golf property, has named Jeff Cerra as its new General Manager. Cerra is a 15-year veteran of the hospitality/food & beverage industry, most recently having been part of the management team for five years with the PJ Welihan’s Group, serving as General Manager of the Pour House in Exton.

Previously, Cerra had worked for five years at Downingtown Country Club as a manager on the banquet and restaurant staff. Prior to that, Cerra served as General Manager of Kooma, an Asian fusion restaurant in West Chester.

Cerra is a graduate of West Chester University where he earned a business degree. He resides in Thorndale, with his wife Christy and their sons, Cameron and Gavin..

The 6,619 yard, par-72 golf course was designed by George Fazio and built between 1965 and 1967.  Fazio, the uncle of renowned modern course architect Tom Fazio, was a runner-up to Ben Hogan in the 1950 U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club, and the touring professional out of Pine Valley Golf Club for a number of years.

Besides the championship caliber golf course, Downingtown Country Club is also a popular and highly acclaimed venue for weddings, banquets and dining.
