Kennett Square boom continues past 4th of July

New venue for food vendors, artwork to open in borough on Friday

Image 1Downtown Kennett Square continues to serve as a magnet for new businesses with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled on Friday for a new retail space: The Market at Liberty Place.

The business debuting at 148 West State Street will host a variety of food vendors, including George & Sons Seafood, Nourish Coffee Shop & Juice Bar, Paradocx Vineyards, Rick’s Steaks, State Street Pizza & Grill, and Yo’r So Sweet Crepes, said a news release from Historic Kennett Square.

In addition, the Kennett Arts Alliance, a new organization under the auspices of Historic Kennett Square, will get display space at the market for occasional exhibits, organizers said.

Friday’s festivities from 6 to 9 p.m. will include free samples from the new vendors; live music by Sin City Lite; and beer samples from the recently announced Kennett Brewing Company, scheduled to open downtown later this year.
