EAST FALLOWFIELD — Firefighters struggled for six hours to contain a barn fire on Strasburg Road, Sunday, but ultimately were unable to save the structure.
More than 100,000 gallons of water was used on Sunday to contain a barn fire at 3186 Strasburg Road. When fire crews and other emergency personal arrived they found that the fire was through the roof.
The 10 responding companies were on scene for six hours but the majority of the fire was under control in an hour. The barn was reported to be a “total loss” due to the substantial damage that was done. One firefighter suffered minor injuries.
Firefighters from Westwood, East Brandywine, Christiana, Glenmoore, Coatesville, Oxford, Sadsburyville, Gap and Cochranville fire companies responded to the scene.
