WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Ryan Costello (R-6) was named to HVAC’s Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs (DAMA) and Economic Opportunity subcommittees House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs (HVAC) Chairman Jeff Miller (R-FL) announced Monday.

Costello released the following statement after it was announced that he would be serving on the subcommittees:

“I am excited to have been named to the Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs (DAMA) and Economic Opportunity subcommittees for this Congress,” Costello said in his statement. “Helping our nation’s veterans is one of my top priorities this Congress. These subcommittees will allow me to dive right into legislative and oversight efforts that aim to help our nation’s veterans find work upon returning home, shrink VA’s mountain of backlogged disability benefits compensation claims and bring full accountability to VA medical centers and regional offices, especially the Philadelphia Regional Office.”

Miller offered praise for the freshman congressman’s efforts right from the start of his term.

“In just a few short weeks as a Congressman, Ryan Costello has jumped in with both feet on the issues facing our committee and today’s veterans,” Miller said in a statement. “He is dedicated to improving the lives of our returning heroes while increasing accountability and efficiency at the Department of Veterans Affairs, and I am excited to appoint him to the DAMA and Economic Opportunity subcommittees.”
