The now nationally-famous, giant illuminated ‘Midnight in the Square’ mushroom leading Chester County’s countdown to 2015.

KENNETT SQUARE — Mushroom mania was alive and well during the second annual ‘Midnight in the Square’ New Year’s Eve celebration.

Thousands of revelers, of all ages, packed historic Kennett Borough bringing a jubilant, family-friendly street scene to life. Dancing, cheering for the now nationally famous giant-illuminated-mushroom, and wide-eyed children could be seen everywhere.

Estimates from organizers, The Mushroom Festival Inc., were that the expected crowd would be nearly double in size over the event’s debut last year; approaching nearly 10,000 attendees.

If you were not able to attend, (or would like to relive the count-down to 2015!) simply click on the The Times’ FaceBook page link where you can watch a live video from last night’s mushroom drop: https://www.facebook.com/TheTimesOfChesterCounty.
