CALN — Police arrested a township man after it is alleged he threatened another man with a gun over a parking dispute, Thursday.
On Thursday evening, a little after 8 p.m., police said a pizza delivery driver reported that he had been threatened by a man with a handgun after a parking dispute. There was no mention of attempted robbery and police say they do not think the incident is related to a pair of robberies this past weekend.
The man with the gun, later identified as Leon Rathburn, allegedly waited for the victim, blocked the victim’s path back to his vehicle, and then pointed a semi-automatic handgun directly at the victim in the area of Golfers Way, located in the Fairways apartment complex. The victim left the area unharmed, however, Rathburn allegedly then called the victim’s place of employment and made further threats. When Rathburn appeared at the business, located in the 2700 block of Lincoln Highway, he was disarmed and taken into custody by police. The business closed for about an hour while Rathburn was on the loose.
Rathburn, age 36, most recently of Golfers Way in Thorndale, was charged with firearms violations, possessing instruments of a crime, simple assault, terroristic threats, false imprisonment, and other related charges. Rathburn was arraigned and committed to Chester County Prison in lieu of $50K cash bail.
