Sun Valley outruns Kennett, 38-27

kennettFB-300x300ASTON — As the old saying goes, speed kills. And it was the overall speed of Sun Valley, and more specifically the speed of its running back Kijana Gordon that turned out to be the undoing of Kennett, as it lost 38-27, Friday night.

While Gordon showed signs last week against Unionville but struggled getting untracked as the Vangaurds were shut out, but it was this week where everything just fell into place as he raced to 285 yards on the ground on 31 carries and six touchdowns.

And yet, despite Gordon’s dominant performance, the plucky Blue Demons hung tough, largely on the back of quarterback Nick Dunlevy, who rushed for 161 yards and two touchdowns.

Things might not get much easier for the Blue Demons (1-4, 1-2 in the Ches Mont American) as they host Unionville, Thursday night, a team that thoroughly dominated Sun Valley last week and is likely to be in something of a sour mood, after being battered Friday night by a strong West Chester Henderson team, 3012.
