Tick Tock to benefit from Galer events

TickTockEAST MARLBOROUGH — Galer Estate Vineyard and Winery’s Thursday Pop up Art Shows will now benefit Tick Tock Early Learning Center in Avondale. For the past year, Galer Estate Winery has hosted Pop up Art Shows every Thursday from 4-8pm with a different artist exhibiting every week.

Pop-up Art shows are simply an art show that is for only one day; like having a gallery opening party without the gallery. Thursday Popups introduce the Chester County community to a variety of local artists, give local artists a new venue to exhibit their work, bring new visitors into the winery and give back to a good cause.

20% of the art sales go to support a local non-profit, and for the past year this support has gone to the New Building Fund of Chester County Art Association, which has an ongoing $3.5milion capital campaign to revamp their headquarters on Bradford Avenue in West Chester. Darcie Goldberg, former Executive Director of CCAA, is the Chairperson of the Building Project, and has secured major funding towards their project goal.  “It has been such an honor to help support the growth of CCAA , and I hope that it has encouraged others to give as well” says Lele Galer.

For the next season of Popup Art shows, Tick Tock Early Learning Center’s Expansion Project will receive 20% of the artist sales.  Under the direction of Expansion Chairperson Jackie Maas, former Executive Director to Tick Tock for many years, The Expansion project needs to raise $350,000 to revamp their current facility. This expansion will include a total kitchen remodel with walk-in freezer unit, classroom curriculum storage area, toddler room emergency exit ramp, and handicap accessible bathroom.  Tick Tock Early Learning Center has been serving children and families of low-income workers  in Southern Chester County for 50 years.

Later this summer Galer Estate will host a benefit dance event “Dress as your Favorite Rock Star” also to benefit the Tick Tock Early Learning Center Expansion.

“I have been working with Tick Tock Early Learning Center since I moved here 13 years ago. It is such a special, wonderful place and does so much to help the children and families in our area.” Says Galer Estate owner Lele Galer.

Galer, also an artist, has almost completed the enormous mosaic that wraps around the Tick Tock building.  Jackie Maas’s daughter Mackenzie works in sales at the Galer Estate Winery.

The winery staff and owners are very pleased to support the Center, and also support Mackenzie and her mother Jackie. “Working beside one of Tick Tock’s own employees, Mackenzie Maas, for the past two year, I have seen her passionate dedication to Galer Estate and Tick Tock respectively. I am excited to see how we (Galer) can help support them!” says Joshua Towber, Sales Manager for Galer Estate.
