Police report possible child-luring attempt

W. Whiteland investigators hope someone will recognize person in sketch

CFS SuspectThe West Whiteland Township Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance as it investigates a possible child-luring incident on Thursday, May 8.

Police said at approximately 8 p.m., two 14- year-old males were walking in the area of the main building at the Church Farm School when they observed a red vehicle driving in front of the school. The boys tried to walk past the vehicle, and the driver asked if they were waiting for a bus. The driver then offered to give the boys a ride. When they declined, the subject replied, “No, get in. I’ll give you a ride.” The driver then started circling the boys with his car in an attempt to block their path, police said.

The boys ran off and notified an adult. The vehicle was last seen traveling east on East Lincoln Highway in the direction of U.S 202, police said.The vehicle was described as a red sedan, possibly a Dodge Challenger or Charger, with a grey interior and black door handles and possibly a black stripe on the trunk or bumper, police said.

The driver was described as an Asian male in his 40s, average height and weight with short black hair; he wore glasses and spoke with an accent, police said.A composite sketch of the driver was prepared based on a description provided by one of the boys, police said.Anyone with information is asked to contact the West Whiteland Township Police Department at 610-363-0200 or 610-692-5100.
