DASD students raise more than $7K for Autism Research

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Zech McPhearson, Kylie Kelce, Miss Pennsylvania’s Teen Lizzie Shacklett, Philadelphia Cheerleaders Deja and Samantha, the Eagles Autism Foundation Executive Director Ryan Hammond, and Swoop join DASD Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Justin Brown and the students at Shamona Creek Elementary School.

Bradford Heights Elementary School and Shamona Creek Elementary School were named the winning team in the third annual Downingtown Area School District (DASD) Elementary Coin Challenge for the Eagles Autism Foundation, earning both schools a visit from Kylie Kelce, Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Zech McPhearson, mascot Swoop, Eagles cheerleaders Deja and Samantha, Miss Pennsylvania’s Teen Lizzie Shacklett, and Eagles Autism Foundation executive director Ryan Hammond. The guests took part in school-wide assemblies to honor the students’ fundraising on April 26.

DASD’s 10 elementary schools were divided into teams of two and competed to see which pair could raise the most funds through coin collections. The total amount raised by all schools for the Eagles Autism Foundation was $7,731.67.
