The Downingtown Main Street Association (DMSA) wants borough businesses to feel the love – and spread it to their customers.

The association has launched an inaugural campaign of civic pride: “I Love D’TOWN.” Recognizing the positive feelings that many have for this historic Chester County borough, the business and civic leaders that comprise the DMSA board of directors have chosen the Valentine’s Day holiday to stage a public display of affection for Downingtown.

The venue for this borough-boosting statement will be Dane Décor, which has offered its front windows as the display board from approximately Feb. 11 through Feb. 23. There, candy heart-shaped messages will instill civic pride, attract attention to Downingtown, and help fund ongoing borough projects.

Businesses that act quickly can purchase a message for $20; space is limited. To participate, contact Steven J. Plaugher, executive director/Main Street manager, at 484-593-0935 ormanager@downingtownmainstreet.com.

DMSA relies on community volunteerism, Borough Council support, and collaboration with local businesses to identify and implement projects that will build on Downingtown’s past success and help bring about improvement where needed in the Borough of Downingtown.
