ChristianaCare to become presenting sponsor for Kennett Run

Kennett Run Charities Inc. has announced that ChristianaCare will be the presenting sponsor of the Kennett Run 5K for the

2024-2028 period. This year’s 10K and 5K Run/Walk takes place on Saturday, May 4 in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.

Celebrating its 35th year, the Kennett Run brings together participants of all ages and abilities to enjoy the scenic course through lovely Kennett Square and its rolling hills. Proceeds from the run benefit southern Chester County nonprofits – key institutions dedicated to strengthening the community by providing education, health, social and environmental services to everyone.

“We are excited that ChristianaCare has committed to join our family of supporting sponsors for the next five years,” said Robert Merkle, president of Kennett Run Charities. “Our sponsors are the lifeblood of the Kennett Run family. They are businesses that believe a strong community is essential to building a strong business, and act on that belief by investing in the Kennett Run. In return, we provide the first community event of the spring to bring our residents and their friends outdoors to socialize, exercise and compete.”

ChristianaCare joins a long list of local businesses that support the Kennett Run. These include Chatham Financial, CQ Medical, Tri-M Group, Sinton Air Conditioning and Heating and Chester County Press and many more.

“ChristianaCare is committed to the long-term health and well-being of our neighbors in southern Chester County,” said Pauline Corso, ChristianaCare’s regional executive director for southeastern Pennsylvania. “We are thrilled to support the Kennett Run because it benefits the individual health and mental well-being of the runners and walkers who participate, and it also contributes to the broader well-being of the entire community.”

ChristianaCare has been providing healthcare services to the residents of southeastern Pennsylvania for many years. These services include primary care practices in Kennett Square, Jennersville and West Grove and a wide range of services at Concord Health Center in Chadds Ford. ChristianaCare recently announced plans to open a neighborhood hospital in West Grove in the spring of 2025 along with a health center at the site at a later date.

The Kennett Run starts and finishes at Anson B. Nixon Park. Following the run, participants can celebrate their accomplishments with the other runners and walkers at a fun-filled post-race party complete with food, beverages and entertainment.
