LCH Health and Community Services celebrated 50 years of serving the community with its 50th Anniversary dinner celebration hosted at Greenwood Country Club in Wilmington, Delaware. On Wednesday, October 4th, over 150 donors and members of the community gathered to honor the mission and growth of LCH Health and Community Services.
LCH serves Chester County through its three health centers in Kennett Square, West Grove, and Oxford. They provide primary care, pediatrics, dental services, women’s healthcare, behavioral health, social assistance, and telehealth for adults and children in the community. LCH accepts insurance and offers affordable rates on a sliding scale basis for individuals who do not have insurance.
Guests of the event enjoyed a cocktail hour with music provided by a local Mariachi band, followed by dinner, keynote speakers, an award presentation, and dancing to wrap up the evening. Dennis McCartney, Director of Operations for Landhope Farms Corporation, was Emcee for the event. Opening remarks were provided by LCH Board Chair, John Rafferty, who thanked the sponsors, Board Members, and volunteers for making the celebration possible.
The Keynote speaker was Paul Redman, President and CEO of Longwood Gardens. Mr. Redman thanked LCH for being a cornerstone in the community that provides high-quality healthcare and other social services to improve the wellbeing of thousands. Chester County Commissioner Josh Maxwell presented a Citation from the Chester County Board of Commissioners to LCH’s CEO, Ronan Gannon, recognizing LCH’s 50 years of service. Prior to the event, Senator Carolyn Comitta presented a citation from the Senate of Pennsylvania as a tribute to the milestone commemorating LCH’s 50th anniversary.
During the event, guests were invited to contribute gifts for LCH’s birthday to meet a donor match challenge of $250,000. Contributions supporting the match challenge have totaled nearly $255,000 as of the writing of this article.
