Aug. 12 is Career Link Day

The PA Department of Labor and Industry has declared August 12th as “PA CareerLink Day – Join the Workforce PA” and Chester County is joining in this state-wide recognition.  A Chester County Partner Resource Fair, held from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on August 12, will highlight the services that Chester County residents can take advantage of, if they are looking to join, or re-enter the workforce.

The free Partner Resource Fair is hosted by PA CareerLink – Chester County and the United Way Financial Stability Center at their combined offices at 479 Thomas Jones Way, in the Oaklands Corporate Center in Exton.

“In an effort to provide a better understanding of our on-site programming and services, we invite all residents to this resource fair, set in an ‘open house’ format to meet with our on-site partners, tour our facility and to learn about our many resources including our G.E.D and our Employment, Advancement and Retention Network (EARN) program,” said Butch Urban, Site Administrator for PA CareerLink® – Chester County.

“During the event, we are also providing an overview of the range of programs that can help anyone who wants to transition back into the workforce, as well as information on  how to access On-the-Job training and Individual Training Accounts,” added Urban.

The PA CareerLink – Chester County is a partner of the American Job Center® network, where individuals looking for jobs, and employers looking to fill jobs, can share access to job training, education and employment services. Its unique partnership with the United Way of Chester County’s Financial Stability Center enhances job seeker services with financial guidance and counseling, to help clarify and achieve financial goals.
