Christmas trees will go on sale starting Nov. 30 at Northbrook Marketplace, with proceeds benefitting a program to train therapy dogs for wounded military veterans. Four of the dogs in the training program, like those pictured above, will be on hand for shoppers to meet.

POCOPSON — Northbrook Marketplace, on the corner of Northbrook and Unionville Wawaset  Roads, will again be a site for Christmas Tree Sales benefitting Paws4Vets, a charitable organization that trains service dogs for Veterans in need of these 4 legged companions.

Sales will start Nov 30, as soon as the trees arrive.  These will be freshly cut Christmas trees as cutting only begins on the day after Thanksgiving and then the trees are immediately shipped to Northbrook.

There will be two types of trees, Fraser Firs and Douglas Firs, from  4′ to 10′. The Douglas Firs are from northern Pennsylvania and the Fraser Firs are from North Carolina.  There will also be undecorated wreaths and pine roping for sale.  The hours of the sale are Monday through Friday, 3 – 6pm, and weekends, 8 am-6pm. (Cash, Checks or Credit Card.)

And yes, as exciting as picking the tree will, visitors can visit with four dogs that are in the program – two golden retrievers, a black lab, and a chocolate Newfoundland.

Additional info about this organization can be obtained at Paws4Vets and Paws4People.org.
