WEST GROVE  — The Avon Grove School District (AGSD) announced Monday that Kelly Harrison has been selected as principal of Penn London Elementary School (PLES), effective July 1, 2020. Harrison is well known to the school community and familiar with the traditions and practices at PLES, as she currently serves as the assistant principal.

Harrison is eager to transition to her new role and is committed to creating positive learning experiences for PLES students. “I believe school should be a warm, welcoming community where every student feels safe and respected. While at school, students should be celebrated for who they are and challenged to become their best selves,” stated Harrison.

Harrison earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Pennsylvania State University in 2005, and has since spent her entire professional career with AGSD. She began her career as an educator at Avon Grove Intermediate School (AGIS) in 2006, working with both third and fourth grade students. Harrison earned a Master of Science in Educational Development and Strategies from Wilkes University and a Principal’s Certification from Cabrini College. In 2014, Harrison accepted the position of assistant principal of AGIS and served in this role until her transfer to PLES in July of 2019.
