Victim told police device was missing after pair visited
Two men who allegedly helped themselves to a friend’s iPad have been charged with theft, conspiracy and related offenses, Westtown East Goshen Regional Police said Monday.
Police said a resident from the 1600 block of East Strasburg Road in East Goshen reported the $429 theft on Dec. 8, the day after Alexie Candelario, 34, and Giovann Candelario-Cruz, 32, both from Chester, had visited. Police said investigators determined that the two men sold the stolen iPad for $279 on Dec. 7at the West Goshen Game Stop Store. Lt. William Cahill said cooperation from the store, which keeps good records, aided investigators in solving the case.
Police said Candelario was taken into custody by Pennsylvania State Parole Agents in Chester and turned over to Westtown-East Goshen detectives on Dec. 24. He was arraigned and released on $5,000 unsecured bail to await a Jan. 16 preliminary hearing, police said.
Candelario-Cruz is still being sought, police said. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department at 610-692-5100.
