WEST GROVE — Mathew Gooch has been named Chief Executive Officer of Jennersville Regional Hospital effective August 1, 2013.

For the past three years, Gooch served as Chief Operating Officer of Jennersville Regional Hospital. In that role, he oversaw the development and implementation of new services and construction projects.
His work was integral to the completion of a $15 million project that added a new 20-bed telemetry unit and converted patient rooms to all private. He helped establish an agreement with Jefferson University Hospital that assists with the diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients in the Jennersville Emergency Department and oversaw development of a comprehensive wound care center that has led to increased patient and physician satisfaction.
“I’m honored to continue working with the dedicated professionals at Jennersville Regional Hospital,” said Gooch. “Because of their work, patients have come to expect quality, personalized care with every visit to this hospital.”
Gooch brings more than 10 years of experience in hospital settings to this role. He joined Jennersville Regional Hospital from Palmyra Medical Center in Albany, Georgia, where he served as COO. Since moving to West Grove, he has become involved in the community, including the Jennersville Y and, more recently, the West Grove-Avondale Rotary Club.
Additionally, Patrick Tuer has been promoted to Assistant Administrator from Administrative Specialist. Since joining the hospital in 2005 as an Information Technology specialist, he steadily increased his responsibilities and was accepted into a prestigious leadership development program in 2011.
In his new role, he will continue a number of initiatives already underway, including rollout of a robotic surgical tool that will assist with such procedures as partial knee replacements.
“Jennersville Regional Hospital is fortunate to have such talent develop and thrive within our own facility,” said David Fitzgerald, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Trustees of Jennersville Regional Hospital. “We look forward to working with both gentlemen in their new roles.”
On behalf of the board, Fitzgerald thanked previous CEO Chuck Davis for his contributions. Davis retired from the organization effective July 31.
