Recipients interested in continuing education must have overcome hardship
Billy Bauerschmidt was 17 on Nov. 21, 2006, when he was thrown from the backseat of his friend’s Mazda Protégé after the car sped out of control on Burke Road in West Whiteland Township, flipped, and fatally pinned him beneath the wreckage.
During his short life, Billy Bauerschmidt overcame his own adversities and touched many lives, traveling to New Orleans to help rebuild the city after Hurricane Katrina and visiting Juarez, Mexico to refurbish an orphanage, according to the foundation’s web site.
The foundation recognizes that teens and families experiencing devastating situations sometimes need help to choose life- affirming support at a critical time in their lives. For more information, visit www.billyslegacy.org.
