Enjoy musical perks of signing up as volunteer

Brandywine Folk Festival recruiting for next month’s event in Kennett Square

ImageEager to experience the sights and sounds of a folk festival but short on cash? Organizers of the Second Annual Brandywine Folk Festival have a solution: Volunteer.

The three-day event, presented by the Brandywine Folk Collective, Historic Kennett Square Society, and WXPN, is seeking volunteers for the festival, which will run from Aug. 23-25. In exchange for each day of participation, volunteers get free admission and are encouraged to volunteer all three days, which amounts to a $65 savings.

This year’s festival will be held at Anson B. Nixon Park and will feature over 30 national and international acts, dozens of vendors, beer-gardens, and games/activities for kids. The Brandywine Folk Festival aims to unite the unique stylings of many different musicians in a family-friendly atmosphere while giving back to the community. Proceeds will benefit the Southeastern Pennsylvania Autism Resource Center (SPARC).

Headliners at the festival include Good Old War, Mischief Brew, and Pearl & The Beard. Potential volunteers should submit an application, available at www.brandywinefolkfestival.com/information, to secure a preferred shift and responsibilities. A full line-up, ticket sales, band links, and more information are also available on the web site or by calling  (484) 604-0183.
