Kennett marching band to raise funds for La. flood victims

marchingbandKENNETT SQUARE — The Kennett High School Marching Band will be collecting donations Friday night for another marching band — one that saw all of its equipment and instruments destroyed during the historic flooding in Louisiana.

The band will be collecting donations during the game and also giving a percentage of all of our food sales to benefit a band near Baton Rouge, Louisiana, St. Amant High School.

According to Kristi Morgan, president of the Kennett Friends of Music, the students were moved to take action, after seeing the devastation.

“Our students understand this need and feel grateful that they have all of their needs met with the support of our district, our high school and our parent organization,” Morgan said.  “We would like to honor the Kennett Marching Band’s commitment to helping bands around the country and potentially have other bands in our area commit to helping as well.”
