CALN — A Delaware woman has been charged with taking some $220,000 from a township small business, apparently, police said, to fund her gambling habit.

Lisa R. Saxe, of Claymont, Del., was charged with Theft, Access Device Fraud, Unlawful Use of a Computer and related charges, Wednesday by township police.

Police said that Saxe used her position as office manager of the business to siphon off the funds during a period from 2007 through 2014.

During the course of the investigation, police said they learned that Saxe frequented Delaware Park Casino and wagered substantial amounts of money during her tenure at the business. As such, she was charged additionally with Dealing in Proceeds of Unlawful Activities.

Saxe turned herself in to township police Thursday and was subsequently arraigned in front of District Justice Jeffrey J. Valocchi and released on $75,0000.00 unsecured bail.
