P.J. Whelihans to add Malvern location in 2017

The P.J.W. Restaurant Group announced this week the planned opening of its 20th restaurant, P.J. Whelihan’s in Charlestown Village in Malvern in late spring 2017. The new P.J. Whelihan’s is the 15th of its kind in the Delaware Valley and joins the group’s family of successful restaurant concepts including The Pour House (Westmont, NJ; North Wales, PA and Exton, PA), Treno Pizza Bar (Westmont, NJ) and The ChopHouse (Gibbsboro, NJ).

Charlestown Village is a dining, retail and travel hub by E. Kahn Development Corporation, anchored by Residence Inn by Marriott Philadelphia Great Valley/Malvern, which opened in May 2016. The Village consists of approximately 21,000 square feet of retail space, including 8,000 square feet of P.J. Whelihan’s space with an additional 1,000 square feet of outdoor space. The newly constructed space will be modified and customized to match the look and feel of their casual neighborhood pub atmosphere while adhering to the design sensibilities of the rest of the village.

The new P.J.’s will be consistent with the P.J. Whelihan’s concept – geared to serve families, sports fans, happy hour patrons and those seeking night and weekend entertainment. The menu will mirror the classic P.J. Whelihan’s offerings including P.J.’s famous wings, fries, tater tots, burgers and more. P.J.W. Copper Lager, brewed exclusively for P.J. Whelihan’s by Victory Brewing Company, will be available alongside a full-bodied list of draft beers, cans and bottles and an extensive cocktail program. The opening is highly anticipated as Charlestown Village serves as a central retail and dining destination for employees based out of Atwater Corporate Center, Great Valley Corporate Center and occupants of the 1,000 new residences located within one mile of the Village – as well as the guests of the Residence Inn. The Malvern P.J. Whelihan’s will provide approximately 100 new full and part time jobs.

“Entering a brand new development and customizing our space has been a really exciting challenge for us,” said Bob Platzer, President and CEO, P.J.W. Restaurant Group. “We’re honored to be a part of the growth of this vibrant community and look forward to giving back to the residents through our charitable programs and through good old-fashioned fun – whether you find it at happy hour, watching a game, playing trivia or dining out with your family.”
