June 23, this year’s Community Day, will feature a day full of inventions

Mini Maker Fair

The Mini Maker Fair is a family-friendly event that will celebrate the Do-It-Yourself mentality and showcase a number of innovative projects.

EXTON — The Chester County Library will host their 3rd annual Community Day on Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.  This year’s theme is a Mini Maker Fair.

A Maker Fair is primarily designed to be forward-looking, showcasing makers who are exploring new forms and new technologies.  Many makers are hobbyists, enthusiasts, or students, but they are also a wellspring of innovators, creating new products and producing value in the community.  But the fair is not just for the novel in technical fields; it will also feature innovation and experimentation across the spectrum of science, engineering, art, performance and craft.

The fair will include 3D printers, hands-on pottery demonstrations, lego robotics, aeroponic tower garden systems, drawbots, fragrance mixology, motorcycles, steam engines and even robots that shoot basketballs and throw frisbees.

Additionally, there will be food and music. All ages are invited to attend this event.
