Rosado named as Chesco Detective

Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan welcomes Oscar Rosado as the newest Chester County Detective.

A veteran Kennett Square police office is the newest Chester County Detective, District Attorney Tom Hogan said Tuesday.

Hogan announced the hiring of Oscar Rosado, who has previously worked numerous times with county detectives in his local policing role and has served as a liaison to the Hispanic community in the county.

Detective Rosado is a key addition to the Chester County Detectives,” Hogan said. “He is an experienced and accomplished investigator, having handled major drug, violent crime, and child abuse investigations. In addition, he is fluent in Spanish, an important tool in many investigations.

Rosado was born in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

He worked extensively with the Chester County Detectives in Operation Telarafia, a drug investigation that dismantled a Mexican drug trafficking organization that was run out of Southern Chester County. Rosado also is a trained forensic interviewer in child abuse cases. Finally,  Rosado previously has played a key role in helping the District Attorney’s Office to interact with the Latino community in Chester County, including working on events with the Maternal and Child Health Consortium and La Communidad Hispana.

Rosado initially will be assigned to the District Attorney’s Child Abuse Unit. He  will remain available to work on violent crime and drug investigations.
