Public assistance being sought on girl’s possible location
Coatesville officers found a missing teenage girl over the weekend; however, it was not the one who has been the target of an intensive search, police said.
On Monday at 8:50 p.m., police made contact with a 17-year-old Downingtown girl who had been called in by the school as a possible runaway, Officer David Marquette reported. Police said she provided false identification and resisted efforts to take her into custody. She was charged with disorderly conduct and released to her father, police said.
Police said investigators still have no substantive leads on the disappearance of Tiffany McDaniels, 14, and are seeking the public’s assistance to locate her. The teen was last seen on Friday, May 17, about 4 p.m. at her home in the unit block of of South Eighth Avenue. Det. Brandon Harris said police have been going door-to-door searching for information.
“Any help we can get would be appreciated,” Harris said. “Finding her is a top priority.” Police have emphasized that the teen, who does have a recent history of running away, is not in trouble and that authorities are just interested in her safe return. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-384-2300.
