ACTION to host Career & Training expo, May 20

ACTIONCOATESVILLE — On Wednesday, May 20 from 12PM – 4PM the recently formed community coalition, Coatesville ACTION will host its second Career & Training Expo. Currently slated to host 35 area employers with over 400 job vacancies, the event will focus on the entire job search experience. On-site interviews, a computer lab, and training seminars will also be provided free of charge to job seekers.

At 12pm, Full Circle Solutions in partnership with the Workforce Investment Board will present a seminar on, “What Does Your Brand Say About You” and “Crafting Your Elevator Speech.” At 2pm, The Lincoln University’s Director of Career Services Ralph S. Simpson, Jr will offer a session on Resume Development and Interview Preparation. Job seekers can attend either session for free without pre-registering.

The acronym ACTION stands for “A Change Through Ideas, Opportunity, and Networking,” explains Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Donna Siter. “After the success of our October 2014 Career & Job Expo we wanted to build on the momentum and with Coatesville’s Centennial this year, we thought we’d make this event even bigger.”

The Coatesville ACTION group is comprised of volunteers from the following community organizations: Chester County Workforce Investment Board, Chester County Economic Development Council, Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce, TMACC, The Lincoln University, Chester County SCORE, and PNC.

“The Lincoln University’s Coatesville Campus is right on the ChescoBus LINK and Krapf A bus routes, so job seekers from Parkesburg to Exton and West Chester can conveniently get here,” says TMACC’s Shannon Maria Jones. Job seekers who intend to attend the Career & Training Expo do not need to pre-register. The physical address for The Lincoln University’s Coatesville Campus is 351 Kersey Street, Coatesville, PA 19320.
