{"id":9720,"date":"2015-04-02T10:20:13","date_gmt":"2015-04-02T14:20:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/?p=9720"},"modified":"2015-04-02T10:20:13","modified_gmt":"2015-04-02T14:20:13","slug":"equine-stars-martins-get-first-hand-look-at-purina-nutrition-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chescotimes.com\/?p=9720","title":{"rendered":"Equine stars Martins get first-hand look at Purina Nutrition Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_108019\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/BoydSilvaMartin-300x223.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-108019\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1080195\" style=\"border: 2px solid black; margin: 4px;\" alt=\"BoydSilvaMartin\" src=\"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/BoydSilvaMartin-300x223.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"223\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-108019\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Chester County equestrian superstars Boyd and Silva Martin got a close up look at the Purina Animal Nutrition Center, recently.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>OXFORD \u2014 Amid a busy winter schedule training and competing down south, Boyd and Silva Martin found time for a visit to the Purina Animal Nutrition Center in Gray Summit, Missouri.\u00a0 Purina is proud to have both of the Martins as members of their ambassador team.\u00a0 Comprised of professionals in a variety of disciplines, the ambassadors devote their time and share their knowledge and experience in an effort to give back to the youth and families in the industry.<\/p>\n<p>The 1200-acre working farm is fully staffed by veterinarians, nutritionists and other professionals who research, develop and perfect Purina Mills\u2019 complete product line.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was just blown away by the amount of research they do there!\u201d claims Boyd.\u00a0 \u201cI know Purina makes great feed, that\u2019s why all our horses eat Purina. But I had no idea how much research, effort, and testing goes into perfecting these products.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Boyd admits that the staff far exceeded what he expected.\u00a0 \u201cThe place was just full of top-notch vets and equine PhD scientists &#8212; with all kinds of expertise!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to touring the research facility, Boyd and Silva had an opportunity to meet and visit with several other Purina Ambassadors, ironically all from Western disciplines.\u00a0 \u201cIt was really fascinating talking with them &#8212; ropers, barrel racers and other rodeo professionals &#8212; and learn how much goes into developing their horses,\u201d he says.\u00a0 \u201cSome have very different requirements in their diet and that\u2019s what Purina does so well \u2013 no matter what the discipline they have the right feed for every lifestyle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSilva and I really learned a lot more about the wide variety of Purina products too,\u201d he says.\u00a0 He was especially impressed with two supplements, Amplify, formulated for weight gain, performance, shine and bloom and Supersport, a targeted amino acid formulation for muscle performance, exercise capacity and recovery.\u00a0 \u201cI added Amplify to a few horses\u2019 diets and also put some Supersport on hard exercisers.\u00a0 It\u2019s only been about a month and I am really amazed with the results.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Boyd also praises his local Purina dealer, Oxford Feed &amp; Lumber, which delivers Purina Ultium and Strategy to their farm, Windurra, as well as his Oxford and Purina reps, confirming that are easily accessible and happy to help him customize feeding programs for individual horses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am really glad we made the trip to Missouri.
