{"id":768,"date":"2013-04-23T17:33:22","date_gmt":"2013-04-23T21:33:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/?p=768"},"modified":"2013-04-23T17:33:22","modified_gmt":"2013-04-23T21:33:22","slug":"french-citizen-charged-with-cockpit-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chescotimes.com\/?p=768","title":{"rendered":"French citizen charged with cockpit fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: medium;\">Federal officials said he used bogus ID to gain access to Philadelphia jet<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/seal.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-769\" alt=\"seal\" src=\"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/seal.jpg\" width=\"297\" height=\"168\" \/><\/a>PHILADELPHIA &#8211; Philippe Jeannard, 61, of La Rochelle, France, was charged by information Tuesday with one count of fraud in connection with an identification document, said U.S. Attorney Zane David Memeger.<\/p>\n<p>According to the information, when Jeannard boarded a commercial airplane on March 20 at Philadelphia International Airport, he possessed a fraudulent Air France identification card of a former Air France employee and used that bogus ID to gain access to the plane\u2019s cockpit.<\/p>\n<p>If convicted, Jeannard faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison, a three-year term of probation, a $250,000 fine, and a $100 special assessment, said a news release from the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office. The case was investigated by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations, the FBI, and the Philadelphia Police Department.\u00a0 It is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney K.T.
