{"id":7618,"date":"2014-10-04T11:04:16","date_gmt":"2014-10-04T15:04:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/?p=7618"},"modified":"2014-10-04T11:04:16","modified_gmt":"2014-10-04T15:04:16","slug":"hurricane-hill-opens-the-haunted-acres","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chescotimes.com\/?p=7618","title":{"rendered":"Hurricane Hill opens The Haunted Acres"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_955438\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/HurricaneHill-300x169.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-955438\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-955438\" style=\"border: 2px solid black; margin: 4px;\" alt=\"HurricaneHill\" src=\"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/HurricaneHill-300x169.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-955438\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Haunted Acres will be among the top local Halloween attractions in 2014.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>COATESVILLE \u2014 Hurricane Hill Farm announced that its Halloween attraction, The Haunted Acres, has opened as one of Pennsylvania\u2019s newest and scariest haunts.<\/p>\n<p>Located in the North Woods at Hurricane Hill Farm (704 East Reeceville Road in Coatesville), the event features a haunted hay ride, corn maze and trail.\u00a0 Created by Aven Warren and Christina Gordon of Nightmare Toy Box (Millville, NJ), Haunted Acres was the dream of 24-year old Coatesville resident Steve Trego, who has helped at his family\u2019s farm since a young age.\u00a0 Hurricane Hill has hosted a daytime corn maze for the last 11 years.<\/p>\n<p>Guests will enter the Haunted Acres through a haunted hay ride called \u201cRealm of Darkness.\u201d\u00a0 The hay ride will take guests through a 5 or 6 acre journey where they will visit numerous sets including the Ghost Town, Toxic Dump, Grimm Mortuary, and Cemetery (complete with haunted crypts and zombie bunnies) \u00a0and many more.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Next up is the Blood Bayou where guests will disembark from the hay ride and begin a walk through a trail in a dark scary woods.\u00a0 They will pass by hillbilly shacks, possibly bump into the Cornstalker and Buford Grimm, try to find their way out through the pallet maze, and will come across other creepy things along the way.\u00a0 Guests will not know what\u2019s coming around the next corner!<\/p>\n<p>The final activity on this haunted journey is the Cornevil corn maze where visitors will walk through a haunted corn field trying to find their way out.\u00a0 Killer the Klown, and others, are known to stalk the corn field.<\/p>\n<p>Fog machines, lasers, dim lighting, and animatronics are all part of the haunt.\u00a0 Said Aven Warren, \u201cThis is not somebody\u2019s back yard haunt.\u00a0 A lot of time and research went into this.\u00a0 This is something you\u2019ve got to see!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Haunted Acres at Hurricane Hill Farm is located at 704 E.
