Heinemann.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>EconomicsPennsylvania, the largest not-for-profit economic education and financial literacy organization in the Commonwealth serving school districts, teachers and students grades K &#8211; 12, has recently honored North Brandywine Middle School student Harrison Chain in winning the National 6<sup>th<\/sup>-8<sup>th<\/sup> Grade InvestWrite essay competition, sponsored by\u00a0 the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association and locally funded by\u00a0DNB First, National Association.<\/p>\n<p>At a ceremony held at North Brandywine Middle School, Bruce E.\u00a0Moroney,\u00a0DNB\u00a0Executive Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer, presented Chain with a certificate of achievement and other gifts\u00a0in recognition of his winning the contest.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking before North Brandywine Middle School teachers, other students and parents assembled for the award presentation, Moroney explained the contest his bank and EconomicsPennsylvania supports it.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;InvestWrite\u00a0is a highly successful extension of the Stock Market Game program, \u00a0also sponsored by EconomicsPennsylvania\u00a0and\u00a0DNB First, which is designed to help students sharpen critical thinking skills as they compose essays on investment related topics,&#8221; he said. \u00a0&#8220;The program builds a bridge between classroom learning and potential real-world investment decisions and helps teach\u00a0young people how to asses, research and then formulate\u00a0possible solutions based on their own findings, logic and ideas.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 1950, the mission of\u00a0EconomicsPennsylvania\u00a0is to promote and encourage understanding of economic concepts through education in the K &#8211; 12 classroom.\u00a0 Fritz M.\u00a0Heinemann, President and CEO of\u00a0EconomicsPennsylvania, said the driving motivation behind the actual program initiatives of the organization is to teach students how the American free market economy works, how to manage money and how to explore career options and learn about entrepreneurship opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Young people\u00a0must be encouraged and taught to make reasonable and sound decisions based on prudent judgments and rational thinking and understand that nearly every personal decision is somehow related to an\u00a0economic consequence&#8221;\u00a0Heinemann\u00a0said.<\/p>\n<p>In presenting the\u00a0InvestWrite\u00a0recognition award to Chain, Moroney\u00a0commented that\u00a0DNB First was proud of its partnership with\u00a0EconomicsPennsylvania\u00a0and especially pleased that students from the Coatesville School District, and North Brandywine in particular, were actively participating in classroom learning experiences related to economic and personal finance studies and initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;DNB First is pleased to share in the overall mission of\u00a0EconomicsPennsylvania\u00a0and together we will do all we can to help support the crucial education of our young people for their, and our nation&#8217;s future.\u00a0 If our children are going to play a leading role within the global economy of tomorrow, we must teach them powerful economic lessons today.\u00a0 It is imperative that we succeed because the price of failure is too high to ignore&#8221;
