{"id":6163,"date":"2014-05-28T14:32:46","date_gmt":"2014-05-28T18:32:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/?p=6163"},"modified":"2014-05-28T14:32:46","modified_gmt":"2014-05-28T18:32:46","slug":"kmc-wins-state-gymnastic-title","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chescotimes.com\/?p=6163","title":{"rendered":"KMC wins state gymnastic title"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/kmcgymnastics2-300x259.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-797788\" alt=\"kmcgymnastics2\" src=\"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/kmcgymnastics2-300x259.jpg\" \/><\/a>KENNETT SQUARE \u2014 The 2014 Pennsylvania USAIGC (United States Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs) State Championship was held Saturday May 17\u00a0and Sunday May 18\u00a0at Woodward Gymnastics Camp in Woodward, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p>This Championship is the qualification competition to the World Championship in Orlando Florida.\u00a0 More than 400 gymnasts representing 18 clubs throughout the state descended on Woodward for the two day event. Fifty-one gymnasts represented KMC of Kennett Square.\u00a0 The competitors ages ranged from 6 \u2013 18 years of age.\u00a0 The gymnasts competed at various skill levels on four events:\u00a0 balance beam, floor, uneven bars, and vault.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The pressure was on and the gymnasts delivered.\u00a0 KMC gymnast Leanna Pfeffer received the highest score for an individual event by earning a 9.7 on the vault.\u00a0 Leanna went on to place second all-around in the silver 13 year old age group. \u00a0\u00a0KMC copper gymnasts Lauren Fenstermacher and Jenna Lamberth both received a 37.60, the top all-around score for KMC.\u00a0 Both copper and bronze teams took first place.<\/p>\n<p>In her second year as head coach of the KMC USAIGC team, Iryna Aliyevska commented, \u201cAll of the girls had a great meet. I am very proud of them. They all qualified for Nationals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The KMC gymnasts with the highest all-around score for their age group and level are listed below.\u00a0 The total possible score is 40.<\/p>\n<p>Copper: Maya Harris (7) 36.52, Lauren Fenstermacher (8) 37.6, Jenna Lamberth (8) \u00a037.6, Emma Gioffre (9) 37.25, Kaila Haenn (10) 37.45.<\/p>\n<p>Bronze: Katie Dettore (8-9) 36.52, \u00a0Jordan Morley (10) 36.975, Abigail Spangler (11) 36.15, Leah Lipsman (12-13) 36.65, Leah Nolan, (14+) 35.77.<\/p>\n<p>Silver:\u00a0 Isabella Difilippo (12) 35.6, Leanna Pfeffer (13) 37.05.<\/p>\n<p>Next, the gymnasts will compete in the Regional Gymnastics Championships in Wildwood, New Jersey.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KENNETT SQUARE \u2014 The 2014 Pennsylvania USAIGC (United States Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs) State Championship was held Saturday May 17\u00a0and Sunday May 18\u00a0at Woodward Gymnastics Camp in Woodward, Pennsylvania.
