A meeting scheduled for Wednesday night, April 30, to raise awareness about the heroin epidemic has been \u00a0postponed, its organizers said Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Andy Rumford, whose 23-year-old daughter, Kacie Erin Rumford, died of a heroin overdose a year ago at their Kennett Square home, founded Kacie\u2019s Cause a short time later to educate the public about the scourge of this widely available drug in Chester County. Since then, he has made presentations at multiple schools and municipalities in the region, started support groups, and spawned chapters of his organization.<\/p>\n

Rumford said several of the presenters are ill, which is why the meeting will have to be rescheduled. He said a date has not yet been set. Rumford has held similar town-hall-style meetings throughout the region, all of which have been well-received.<\/p>\n
