{"id":38379,"date":"2023-04-15T08:00:11","date_gmt":"2023-04-15T12:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chescotimes.com\/?p=38379"},"modified":"2023-04-14T09:53:11","modified_gmt":"2023-04-14T13:53:11","slug":"county-government-earns-top-honor-for-employee-well-being","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chescotimes.com\/?p=38379","title":{"rendered":"County government earns top honor for employee well-being"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-17862\" src=\"https:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/ChesterCountyLogo-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"303\" height=\"300\" \/>The American Heart Association\u2019s (AHA)<em> Workforce Well-Being Scorecard<\/em> awarded Chester County Government a Platinum Recognition for building \u201ca culture of health and well-being for their workforce.\u201d The County achieved Platinum recognition \u2013 the highest award \u2013 by scoring in the top nine percent of 381 participating organizations nationwide.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reacting to news of the award, Chester County Commissioners\u2019 Chair Marian Moskowitz said, \u201cAs one of the largest employers in the county, with a workforce of over 2,600, we value the physical and mental well-being of our employees. An employee\u2019s well-being is essential to an organization\u2019s overall health \u2013 whether it is a private business, a large corporation, or a government agency. That\u2019s why the County created its traditional wellness program in 2007, which more than 70 percent of our employees participate in today.\u201d<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The American Heart Association\u2019s Workforce Well-Being Scorecard assesses an organization\u2019s culture of health by looking at its mental health policies, health equity measures, organizational well-being strategies to address burnout, and employee financial resources, among other things.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">County Commissioner Josh Maxwell said, \u201cWe are honored to be recognized by the American Heart Association for our commitment to employee health and well-being, and our continued efforts to promote equity.\u00a0 One thing noted as part of the platinum recognition is the generous parental leave policy the County has for both moms and dads.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Commissioner Michelle Kichline said of the award, \u201cAs one of the top employers in the county, we strive to lead by example, with an award-winning wellness program that not only benefits our employees, but also significantly impacts \u2013 and helps to control \u2013 the ever-increasing cost of healthcare benefits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe thank our Human Resources staff for their dedication to continually improving upon the wellness initiatives for all County government employees,\u201d added Commissioner Kichline.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The American Heart Association Workforce Well-being Scorecard, part of the Association\u2019s Well-being Works Better&#x2122; platform, helps business leaders unleash the power of a healthy, happy workforce.\u00a0 Distinct from traditional wellness programs, Well-being Works Better empowers employers to champion the mental and physical health of their employees, and provides actionable guidance to meet the unique needs of their organization.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The American Heart Association\u2019s (AHA) Workforce Well-Being Scorecard awarded Chester County Government a Platinum Recognition for building \u201ca culture of health and well-being for their workforce.\u201d The County achieved Platinum recognition \u2013 the highest award \u2013 by scoring in the top nine percent of 381 participating organizations nationwide.
