City Manager during reorganization meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_13167\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Charles-Chip-Huston-Assitant-City-Manager-City-of-Coatesville.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13167\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-13167\" src=\"https:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Charles-Chip-Huston-Assitant-City-Manager-City-of-Coatesville-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-13167\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Charles &#8220;Chip&#8221; Huston<\/p><\/div>\n<p>COATESVILLE \u2014 During the Monday, January 4 Coatesville Reorganization meeting, which was held in the midst of the city\u2019s pivotal redevelopment initiatives, Linda Lavender Norris was reelected as City Council President along with Carmen Green, Vice President.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel honored that my colleagues entrusted me to maintain this leadership role, and it\u2019s my pleasure to serve our community,\u201d said Lavender Norris. \u201cI believe continuity in leadership is beneficial, and we must work together with our residents to maintain the momentum we have achieved so far.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Green thanked Council members for the vote of confidence. \u201cIt\u2019s my pleasure and an honor to serve our residents,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Charles (Chip) Huston was welcomed as the City\u2019s new Assistant City Manager, filling the vacancy after James Logan was appointed to City Manager in August.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m pleased to welcome our newest member of the City\u2019s staff,\u201d said Logan. \u201cChip has a genuine long standing connection to our region and brings a proven track record of community service and leadership to this role. We have much to accomplish, and I look forward to working with Chip and our dedicated City Council members.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Huston will work closely with Logan and directly support the public works and codes departments as well as participate in city revitalization and development projects. Formerly Executive Director and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Chester County, Huston also held management positions at Philadelphia Gear, Amazon and QVC. He is a graduate of Widener University and earned an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Saint Joseph\u2019s University. A resident of the Greater Coatesville Region for 40 years, Huston serves on the boards of the Coatesville 2nd Century Alliance, Good Neighbors Home Repair, and the Huston Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to working with our city leadership, businesses and residents to help Coatesville emerge as a top city,\u201d says Huston. \u201cIt feels like a natural extension to move from developing housing with Habitat to now having the opportunity to be involved with projects that will revitalize an entire city.
