Tom Wolf announced Tuesday that he would ease indoor seating restrictions from a max of 25% percent of capacity to 50% of capacity \u2014 but would require restaurants to stop serving alcohol after 10 p.m. and eateries to &#8220;self certify&#8221; that they are meeting all health and safety requirements.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;While our aggressive and appropriate mitigation efforts have kept case counts low, we must continue to take important steps to protect public health and safety as we head into the fall. At the same time, we must also support the retail food services industry that has struggled throughout this pandemic,\u201d Gov. Wolf said in a statement. \u201cThe self-certification ensures that \u200brestaurants can expand indoor operations and commit to all appropriate orders so that employees and customers alike can be confident they are properly protected.\u201d <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Restaurants that self-certify will appear in the Open &amp; Certified Pennsylvania searchable online database of certified\u00a0restaurants across the commonwealth. Business owners\u00a0should keep a copy of the self-certification confirmation they will receive by e-mail.\u00a0Social distancing, masking and other mitigation measures must be employed to protect workers and patrons.\u00a0Further, starting September 21 restaurants that have alcohol sales will close alcohol sales at 10:00 PM.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally,\u00a0restaurants that self-certify will be mailed Open &amp; Certified Pennsylvania branded materials, such as window clings and other signage designating their certification, which they can display\u00a0for customers and employees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Offering some hope to local struggling restaurants, Gov.
