{"id":32827,"date":"2020-09-05T08:47:30","date_gmt":"2020-09-05T12:47:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chescotimes.com\/?p=32827"},"modified":"2020-09-05T08:47:39","modified_gmt":"2020-09-05T12:47:39","slug":"stauffer-named-new-county-dir-of-parks-and-preservation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chescotimes.com\/?p=32827","title":{"rendered":"Stauffer named new County Dir. of Parks and Preservation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_12444\" style=\"width: 216px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/David-Stauffer-Director-Chester-County-Parks-Preservation.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12444\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-12444\" src=\"https:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/David-Stauffer-Director-Chester-County-Parks-Preservation-206x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"206\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-12444\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">David Stauffer<\/p><\/div>\n<p>WEST CHESTER \u2014 Chester County Commissioners Marian Moskowitz, Josh Maxwell and Michelle Kichline announce the appointment of David Stauffer as Director of Chester County\u2019s Department of Parks and Preservation.\u00a0 Stauffer moves to this new role following 12 years as Capital Projects Coordinator within the Chester County Department of Facilities.<\/p>\n<p>As Director of Parks and Preservation for Chester County, David will lead the department in the strategic effort to preserve agricultural land, municipal parks, trails, greenways, and other land preservation projects as well as manage the County\u2019s seven parks and three trails.<\/p>\n<p>David\u2019s experience as Capital Projects Coordinator for the County included management of the design, permitting and construction of the County\u2019s parks and regional trails capital improvements projects, and liaison with the Chester County Parks Board, consultants and construction management.\u00a0 Prior to joining the County, he served as a project manager with Simone Collins Landscape Architecture, Inc., where his responsibilities included open space, parks, recreation and trail planning, design and development for municipal clients.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the appointment, Chester County Commissioners Marian Moskowitz, Josh Maxwell and Michelle Kichline said, \u201cDavid\u2019s knowledge of Chester County\u2019s parks, trails and open space, and his immense understanding of the methods with which to expand and develop parks and preservation is invaluable.\u00a0 He has managed many projects and worked with many partners to develop our parks and trails, and this provides a great foundation to lead our Parks and Preservation Department.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stauffer, 44, takes over the Parks and Preservation Directorship from Brianne Zanin who was recently appointed as Deputy Administrator for the County.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are proud of the quality of staff that we have within Chester County Government, and are confident that both David and Brianne will undertake their new roles with professionalism and a thorough understanding of our County\u2019s systems and goals,\u201d adds the three Commissioners.<\/p>\n<p>David Stauffer earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from the Pennsylvania State University.\u00a0 Married with two children, David lives in East Brandywine Township.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WEST CHESTER \u2014 Chester County Commissioners Marian Moskowitz, Josh Maxwell and Michelle Kichline announce the appointment of David Stauffer as Director of Chester County\u2019s Department of Parks and Preservation.\u00a0 Stauffer moves to this new role following 12 years as Capital Projects Coordinator within the Chester County Department of Facilities.
