Huyler, III<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Chester County District Attorney&#8217;s Office announced the arrest of William C. Huyler, III for theft, forgery, and related offenses. <span class=\"s1\">The <\/span>defendant is alleged to have orchestrated a series of thefts from two condominium associations totaling $982,923.64<span class=\"s2\">. <\/span>The two <span class=\"s1\">victim <\/span>associations are the Kings Mill at <span class=\"s1\">Kings <\/span>Grant Condominium Association (&#8220;Kings Mill&#8221;) in <span class=\"s1\">Marlton, <\/span>New Jersey and the Goshen <span class=\"s3\">Valley III<\/span> Condominium <span class=\"s3\">Association in East Goshen, Chester<\/span> County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s7\">&#8220;This defendant <\/span>betrayed the trust of these victims for his own financial benefit,&#8221; <span class=\"s5\">First Assistant District Attorney Michael Noone said in a statement, Tuesday<\/span>. &#8220;This is another reminder for businesses to be <span class=\"s1\">vigilant <\/span>and make sure the necessary financial safeguards <span class=\"s1\">are <\/span>in place.&#8221;<!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\">Huyler is 40 <span class=\"s1\">years <\/span>old. <span class=\"s1\">He <\/span>lives in <span class=\"s1\">East Marlborough Township, <\/span>Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s1\">The <\/span>allegations from the <span class=\"s1\">criminal <\/span>complaint<span class=\"s8\">\u00a0<\/span>are <span class=\"s1\">as <\/span>follows:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\">Huyler allegedly used his position as principal of East Hill Property Management om Chadds Ford to steal <span class=\"s1\">nearly <\/span>a million dollars from <span class=\"s1\">condominium associations<\/span> using multiple methods <span class=\"s1\">of <\/span>deception. Investigators say that these deceptive methods included <span class=\"s1\">false and <\/span>misleading email <span class=\"s1\">communications <\/span>with <span class=\"s1\">victim <\/span>association board members and bank representatives, laundering money through multiple bank <span class=\"s1\">accounts,<\/span> making false entries on memo lines of checks, and the production and distribution of forged documents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p17\">Huyler&#8217;s thefts are alleged to have occurred from January 30<span class=\"s15\">, <\/span>2017 through November 29, 2018. During that period, the defendant commingled association funds with his company funds and conducted transactions moving monies from one association to another.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p19\">Investigators say that Huyler unlawfully acquired money from bank accounts belonging to Kings Mill and used it as his and his company&#8217;s own. In an effort to conceal that <span class=\"s16\">theft<\/span><span class=\"s17\">, <\/span> the defendant stole from an account owned by <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>an Upper Merion,\u00a0Montgomery County association named Crooked Lane Crossing with which he reimbursed the major portion of the money he stole from Kings Mill. He has been charged and is currently awaiting trial for the Crooked Lane Crossing theft in Montgomery County. Huyler allegedly also stole money from Goshen Valley III and used it as his own during this time <span class=\"s26\">period<\/span><span class=\"s27\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p23\">Investigators said that he used the stolen funds to make payments to cover pre existing personal and business credit debt not related to the associations he stole from. He also manipulated funds through various accounts which he then used to make an $867<span class=\"s15\">,<\/span>698.20 cash purchase of his private residence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p25\">Huyler is charged with theft, forgery, and related offenses. The defendant&#8217;s bail is $250,000 unsecured<span class=\"s15\">. <\/span>A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 9 at <span class=\"s3\">District Court<\/span> <span class=\"s3\">15-3-04. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p27\">&#8220;<span class=\"s15\">T<\/span>his defendant used his job and access to treat these condo associations as his own bank account, Noone said. &#8220;The defendant&#8217;s greed and <span class=\"s26\">self<\/span><span class=\"s29\">&#8211;<\/span><span class=\"s26\">dealing <\/span>were more important to him than his responsibility to those he stole from.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p29\">This case was investigated by the Chester County Detective<span class=\"s15\">.<\/span>s Any person with information regarding these incidents should contact the Chester County Detectives at (610) 344-6866.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Chester County District Attorney&#8217;s Office announced the arrest of William C.
